Arminta J Harness Memorial Scholarship
Arminta Harness was an extraordinary engineer, military officer and SWE advocate. Some of her many accomplishments are listed below. Minta made many contributions to the engineering profession and to women in engineering. She was influential to those of us who were privileged to work with and know her. Let’s endow a scholarship in her name.

Arminta Harness' Accomplishments:
- First woman engineer in the United States Air Force
- Retired from the USAF with the rank of Lt Colonel in 1974. Her last
assignment was Executive Officer and Deputy for Space
Communications Systems in the Space and Missiles Organization - Retired from Westinghouse in 1979
- SWE-Los Angeles Section President, 1967-68
- SWE President, 1976-78
- Received SWE Fellow Member Grade, 1980
- SWE Distinguished Service Award Recipient, 2000
- Designed and sculpted the SWE Resnik Challenger Medal
